Love is in the air
 
For a long time I postponed this painting. Then David Hockney’s influence finally pushed me to just create it. 
 
There is already so much pain in the world. I did not want to add to it. So I asked myself a simple question we say "love is in the air," but what if I painted it literally? This is the second work in my theme Inheritors of the Earth, born from a deep, sometimes overwhelming emotion for the future and for those who will receive it from us.
 
Present is watching the future, with wonder rather than fear. Animals travel beside us, not left behind. In my culture we have an old saying for this: "vasudhaiva kutumbakam" — the whole world is one family. That is the future I choose to paint.
 
Once upon a time, love happened on the ground. But love, by its very essence, belongs in the air. While so much of the world imagines tomorrow as a threat, this painting asks a different question: when we finally rise, will we remember to carry love with us?
